Waitangi Day commemorates a significant day in the history of New Zealand. It celebrates the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, which founded New Zealand, in 1840. Our resident Kiwi leader Geri showed us about Maori culture and we made & used poi. Luckily no-one was hurt
16/12/09
We made our annual trip to see Father Christmas, this time back at his Grotto at Harrods’. Thanks to a friendly doorman we were able to park right outside the door and Christmas lists were successfully delivered. Hopefully everyone got what they wanted!
1/12/09
To celebrate Hanukkah, we learned about the traditions of the Jewish festival, and then made our own dreidels.

13/10/09
Judith, who works for the BBC, organised a visit to Radio 1. We saw Sara Cox on air, and we visited the Newsbeat studio where we made our own news bulletin using the real news of the day.

21/4/09
For St George’s Day we invited the London Pride Morris Men to visit us. They came dressed in their traditional clothes and demonstrated a couple of dances before inviting us to join in. The children seemed particularly to enjoy the part where you whack wooden sticks together!
